I sat down at my local FLGS, put up my Screen, and a sign that said "Come Visit My Universe" and Players Welcome.
backed that up with a recruiting announcement here on CotI, and three weeks later, I have 4 players in a weekly game. Two from the forums, here, and two walk ups.
We're currently using Mongoose, but have T5 on tap for later.
I opted for MT because the learning curve is pretty shallow and one of my players is a novice Traveller. {only ever played D&D}
If you run, players happen.
I've had six interested walk ups who I'd say would play, given a better schedule time for them, and ended up giving some customers in the shop a pretty solid 'History Of Traveller' lecture, because the shop hands were unable to do so.
there seem to be a LOT of 'I've heard of's' and many 'I used to play's' out there.
