Traveller Universe

They run through an online store... it might even be Ebay. If you email them, they'll send you to the right link for the store.

BITS are working their way up to getting their own store. In the meantime they've moved off eBay and onto Ancient Tomes. (Yes, that's the same name as the eBay shop they were using.)

So I finally decided to go ahead and purchase Universe... unfortunately the online store refuses to sell to me since I am in the US and it tells me "No shipping method setup for your country. Please contact us to see if we can make an alternative arrangement".

You'd think since it was a download (I see no shipping costs so I assume it is) this would not matter.

Bummer.

Store issues

Hi

I've looked at the store and the shipping tables have corrupted. I will restore over the weekend and thus the site will be offline.

Forthekill: I will email you when we have restored service and you can put through the order.

Thanks for your patience.

Let's talk about Universe. What will it do for you? How does it compare to Heavn & Earth?

The current version of Universe does not do system generation. HE is a system generator.

On the other hand ...
  • Universe allows you to keep lots of notes and hides referee notes from players.
  • Universe creates pretty maps.
  • Universe can import and export in a variety of formats (and even lets you create your own formats).
  • Universe allows SQL searches of the data.
  • when editting a system Universe is rules aware (including all the original Alien modules).

Also development on HE has been abandoned whereas Universe 2 is finally due before end 2009. (A major part of Universe 2 will be system generation.)

But, system generation is grunt-crunch work. It sounds more useful to a Traveller GM than Universe. And, you can't beat the H&E cost.
