General Updated the links on my Blog

So I went through all the links on my Way Station Blog. I didn't realize so many pages were down or moved. I had to delete too many that I couldn't find on a Google search and got a bit sad when I had to delete Don McKinney's pages.

I did add a bunch of new Traveller Blogs - which is a good sign.

If anyone wants their Webpage or Blog added to my list, shoot me a note.

Are Don's pages archived on The Wayback Machine?

Yes, but actually no.
The archived version of the web page can be reached, but the downloadable PDF files with the errata and stuff, i.e. the things that Don put so much work in, are corrupted and unuseable on archive.org.

I think that most of them have been preserved elsewhere, though.

I think that I have all of Don's errata information downloaded, and I could supply it to whoever wants to post it back up.

To all the archivists, you also consider posting archives like this to some of the more "immortal" sites.

In theory, you can pro-actively get things archived at the wayback machine, but I'm not quite sure how that works.

Another thing you can do is post them to something like GitHub, typically used for source code, but also useful for blobs of PDFs and what not, and should have pretty reasonable long term provenance.

It's great that folks share their work, but much of it is behind a $5/month website that goes dark if the author passes (especially if there's no information in their estate about how to deal with the information).

Uploading to some of the more "persistent" sites can be a good backup.

Mind, that's also another option, simply make sure you estate documents have information about how you want the stuff you share on line handled (pull it off, send it to you friend Bob, etc.) Don't forget to include accounts and passwords (something we all should do anyway).

Any chance we can get a page here at TravellerRPG.com to store his public works? I know I have many of them I could upload.

I remember the Traveller webring of long ago that seems like yesterday. My thanks to all of you here that help keep the game going by hosting and or creating content.

Great to see you back on the blogs!

Just copy/pasted HTML. Any other hosted files would be missing.
