All of that works. Gypsies probably build cheap freighter communities though. All the parts from other ships. The caravan approach with anything they can get.

I actually modeled them as much after the "Traveler" communities in the US, but leaving out the scamming they often are accused of, as upon the Rom.

The Irish Tinkers/Travelers in the US are noted for fixed communities in out of the way places, and traveling from these to work (and, often, to scam)... on a seasonal basis. They also gather a couple times a year to arrange marriages and apprenticeships.

Ironically the safari ship is probably a better yacht then the yacht.

The one outstanding feature of the Type Y, and where it's tonnage goes, is that 6-G getaway craft.
