UWP Database

Has anyone made a searchable database for UWPs? Something in Access maybe?

I want to be able to look for systems that meet certain (multiple) criteria (Ex: Gov type A, pop <20,000)

I have been toying with the idea of doing a down and dirty version with my limited Access skills, but why re-invent the wheel....

Unless 'Galactic' or 'Heaven & Earth' have done it, I doubt there's a publicly released one out there.

On the other hand, many cheap or free text editors can do content-searching on files using regular expressions; for instance, I recently used UltraEdit to look for a UWP that satisfies the following criteria:

C[12345][12345][12345]6

A small world with a C-class starport, thin atmosphere, some water, and 1-9 million people.

It found a few in each sector, which was enough to find the world I was looking for.

One addendum to this: I did create a MySQL db which contained a 'planet' table, which contained decoded UWPs for the mainworlds of several sectors in it (I converted the hex locations to ring/ray notation in order to remove sector boundaries). But compared to the "light infrastructure" of just using a text editor's search engine, it's too much work for just a reference.

The schema (not data) for the database is here:

Tom Bont's Astrogator program can load a large number of sector files and has a search function. Download the maps as well so you don't have to import and convert the known universe.

There are several places to go. You just have to know where to look. Numerous Internet search engines such as Google, Alta Vista, and the like have refereces in Astrogation Databases and the galactic maps to go with them. Try http://maps.travellercentral.com/ have maps and data for the Classic Traveller Universe and is a great resource.
