Valkyrie Class Frigate

...Since I'm working on the drawing their is no going back after I update (I'm saving harddrive space by cutting pasting to the file so I'm not keeping back up files).

:oo:

...I'll give you this, you have guts... hmmm, though come to think on it I've been doodling that way myself lately...

I'm liking the direction it's going by the way :)

;) Now far-trader, how many gigbits of my material do you have on your computer?

Fess up, your sonic suppress on your harddrive isn't the only thing I know about?

I do keep tabs on your eletron and proton useage :)

It's just before midnight, so I'll be posting the finished ship. There is a good chance I'll have to extend the hull for more crew members and storage space. If that is the case, then I'll probably put in an air raft transport for the troops, I'd like to have on this ship. The other option is to put in a third deck to house these details. I may extend the booms as well to add the fuel scoops as seen on the Valkyrie.

Check it out and tell me what you think...

I like it. You've created a different feel from the first prototype.

I'm guessing there is already a crew of 14 (assuming single occupancy of each berth) but am puzzled a bit by the one cabin with two bunks.

I would add the scoops only if there is enough volume and power for a purifier. Also, how many troops did you have in mind? If this design has a customs enforcement mission, a small team (max four) would be beneficial but then I think that a launch would be better than an air/raft.

Note that the P-38 was a built that way for functional reasons, not aesthetic ones.

Note also that the engines in booms made them easier to repair, rather than harder, as they do for your ship.

After all, the P-38 only had to be repaired on the ground, not in flight, as might occur with a starship.
