Here is a very interesting article written by Fletcher Pratt on how he envisioned warfare in space. Pratt was a very knowledgeable military and naval historian, and his Naval War Game rules are still used, as they are quite good. He did not foresee lasers, but his comments are still valid as to more convention weapons. In my universe, personal weapons are all slug throwers. Enjoy reading the article.
