Weapon (mustering benefit)

CosmicGamer

I have a question about getting multiple weapon rolls when mustering.

I know that on the second roll you can take a weapon skill.

How about in this situation.
Start in one career. Decide to change careers (or get booted out). Muster out from first career gets you first weapon roll. When mustering out from second career you get the second weapon roll.

Do you think the character should still be able to get the weapon skill?

Yes, there is not statement that the Benifit rolls are limited in the way you discribe. Besides don't you roll the benififts at the end of CharGen anyway?

I look at it this way, these are the "things" I have accumilated in my life so far. Not an item given to me by my boss per say.

Just my .02

MGT does MOB's at end of career. So... the benefits would be handled separately each time, IMO. I'd see no problem if a Ref decided to lump them all together, and allow the skill, but I'd not force that upon the Ref.

No, you roll for benefits when you leave a career according to the MGT book I have.
OK, my Bad. We tend not to do "many" multi-career characters so from my point of view it seemed at the end of CharGen. Sorry.

So to be clear what I am thinking: The line reads:
If you roll this benefit again, you may take another weapon of the same type, a different weapon, or one level in the appropriate Melee or gun combat specialty for a weapon already received as a mustering-out benefit.
I figured it this way: It does not say rolled again in this mustering out. Nor does it say the weapon gained had to be in this mustering out benefit set. It just says "If you roll this benefit again".

Now I am NOT saying I am "right". I am just explaining why I would have allowed had my guys done characters with more then one career.

For all I know you may offer ideas that will change my mind. :)

And Aramis is right, the GM should have final say either way.

EDIT: Oh and just a side note of little interest. The one time a player in my group did roll the same benefit twice, he took another weapon. Said he wanted to save his little cash for later.

As I recall the CT version (not checking MGT), the mustering out roll gave you a weapon. IF you rolled the weapon again on muster, then you take it as a skill or a different weapon. The first success was always considered a physical weapon.

i agree...its should be the end of a career...

That's the simplest :) But...

...I like rolling them each term, helps define the character's history. But it's more work. You have to keep track of the all the rolls in case you later get a DM for them and upgrade them (the way I do it).

Well....

IMO I'd go with the LLB and let you get a weapon and then another weapon or skill in first weapon. And of course I concur with the Marquis. :p

Also Daniel, love the .sig, got the album. :D
