• Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

What games do you play

Ahh, now it comes to it then...
Chess (Since I was 14, taught me always to plan ahead, have sevral plan B's, C's, and the occaisional E-plan)...
Parchesi (since 9, been a while tho).
Anything from Avalon Hill games (board)
ADND-2+ (ref90%/play 10%)
ADnD-1 (ref/Play 9/1)began in 1980.
CT (play only)
MT-(Play only)
TNE-(ref)
T-20 (when it arrives, hope to coerce/co-opt the ADND3 Ref into sharing the ref role a bit--and "infect another Gamer!")

Our group is playing CT at the moment but we also play Space 1889. I also play "Mustangs & Messerschmitts" (a manual flight-sim), "Art of War" (historical table top miniatures).

Back when I had a group it was:

ADnD (GM/Play)
MTrav (GM)
CT (GM)
GURPS (Play)
Mechwarrior (GM/Play)
BattleTech (GM/Play)
Aliens (GM)
ElfQuest (used the rules for a DND style) Enjoyed the realism of the rules (get stabbed by a sword and you'll most likely die or be hurting)

With two teenage boys of my own I have a captive audience to torture(they say they enjoy it...)

D&D in all it's incarnations, Tunnels & Trolls, Warhammer Fantasy Role Play, Space Opera, HoL, Chess(I am also awful at it, but like to play), Vampire, Dark Future, Talsiman, DungeonQuest, HeroQuest, WH40K, WHFB, Adeptus Titanicus, Man-O-War, Space Hulk, Space Marine, Wiz-War, Necromunda, Mordheim, Mage Knight, Star Wars, Mighty Empires, BloodBowl, Pokemon CCG, Harry Potter CCG, Battle Masters, Darkstone, Dungeon Seige, Stonekeep, American McGee's Alice, Hexen, Warcraft, and a few others.

Our current games are:
</font>
  • Exalted: This game is super-cool and we're having an absolute blast with it.</font>
  • Dark Sun: We're using the proposed 3rd edition rules and it's working out pretty good so far.</font>
Games we've played in the past and occasionally return to:
</font>
  • Call of Cthulu / Delta Green: The horror!</font>
  • Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition: I was running this one. I'd still like to finish it some time; fun campaign.</font>
  • Ars Magica: I ran this one too. Next time I'll back off on the bookkeeping aspects. I spent WAY too much time setting the scene, but once we actually got to adventuring it went better. Even so, it was a short campaign. I think they'll let me try again some day if I promise to be good. :D</font>
  • Mage: The Ascension: Ran a Technocracy game in '98 or '99 where the party went around making sure that elections went the way the bosses wanted, leaving nothing to chance (rigging them). The players liked it since it was a scenario they hadn't seen before.</font>
  • Shadowrun: Dear Lord, have we played a lot of Shadowrun. Haven't touched it in a while. I think we got burned out.

  • Abberant: A serious campaign that was sprouted from a silly Champions one-shot. ("Who are you guys?" "Bay Area Rapid Justice!" "You guys are called BARJ?" ). It's not quite dead, but we can only get the players together once every other month or so. :(</font>
  • Heavy Gear: Nifty campaign with a different focus and cast of characters for each major chapter. We all kinda lost interest when it got to the last chapter and became a set of military missions.</font>
  • Star Wars: The entire party (almost) were gearheads aboard an old freighter, occasionally running errands for the fledgling Rebel Alliance. Our party was responsible for the Rebel uniforms being that awful brown color. We bought ten or twelve kilometers of that cloth on speculation and couldn't find a buyer. Swapped it with the Rebels for a box of used droid parts.

  • Legend of the Five Rings: Being samurai was very cool, but we never quite worked out what exactly the role of shugenja was in society.</font>
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of just now. I'm sure some of you have noticed that Traveller is absent from the list. Don't worry. When T20 hits stores, I have every intention of fixing that!

I've played;
TMNT
Call of Cthulhu
AD&D
Star Wars (found the combat system very lengthy)
Classic Traveller
MegaTraveller
Stormbringer

Own and am interested in;
Delta Green "Be seeing ya"
Sengoku

Well, I have not played a true RPG for over 8 years. When I did these were my favorites:

Top Secret: All time favorite. Ran more than played Loved the real world aspects of it. Not bothered by the complexity of the small arsms combat system. Actually stole it to use in Traveller.

Traveller: Was out of gaming before other versions came along. Again, used the Top Secret rules for gameplay and all the tememdous bkgrd info Traveller has. Good friend and I came up with a alt. starship combat system that was designed for small scale encounters. It played similier to Star Fleet Battles.

Call of Cuthulu: One adventure but very memorable. Ended up having this PC that was a parapsycologist but the son of a mobster. Best friend played the character's bodyguard.

Bushido: One adventure that taught me that I am not a Samurai. Good game though.

Gamma World: A few times.

AD&D: Got to be everyone's first. Lots of it but fell by the wayside once I had TS and Trav.

Board/War games:

Squad Leader, Starship Troopers, Star Fleet Battles, Car Wars (used rules any time vehicles came up in TS or Trav), Illumanti.

Well, let's see.....

D&D 3e, CT of course, occasional Call of Cthulu, and Warhammer and Warhammer 40K along with Chainmail and DBM/A.

That'll do for now I suppose. Most common are D&D, Warhammer 40K and CT. I have been playing about with T20 Lite with a couple of friends for a while. Looking forward to getting T20.

Real life does get in the way often. We try to be flexible. Been gaming steadily since '74 and am now 46. Between parental activities, staying healthy, work, and paintball, I still find time to game at least twice a month, sometimes three. Don't want to think about what will happen when my batteries finally give out. LOL

Be well!

After 20+ years of rpg's it's almost easier to list games I haven't played! But, here's what my group has been doing of late:

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
Gurps: Swashbucklers
2300AD
Mage:Sorcerers Crusade
3e
Delta Green (though I made the conspiracy so convoluted I don't think my players even know we were playing Delta Green! :)

Looking forward to finally starting a Traveller campaign. Would like to try Transhuman Space and Dune sometime in the near future.

-S.

Hmmm, I said it before, I'll say it again, "Belters rule, baby!!!"

I've been playing Prism/TimJim Games' "2038-Tycoons of the Asteroid Belt"

I have played many games in the past, but I've been out of circulation for a few years. In the past I've played:
AD&D 1st & 2nd edition
CT
Gamma World
Car Wars
CoC Victorian version
Illuminati
Twilight 2000
Traveller 2300
Top Secret
The Morrow Project
Chivalry & Sorcery 1st ed.
Avalon Hill games, mostly Napoleons Battles in 15mm
Starfleet Battles
Champions
B5 Wars

Many more that I wanted to play, including MT.
