What lies beyond?

Richard

SOC-11
I always wondered just what lay beyond the space charted in the various Traveller supplements, what lay beyond the other interstellar states, particularly to Spinward of the Spinward Marches. The Zhodani lie to coreward, the Aslan to rimward, but it seems to be just unclaimed space. Why has the Imperium not spread out into that space, from its foothold in Five Sisters subsector - all that is shown are scattered human client states. Here, surely, is room for another alien ( or human? ) empire. Anyone ever develop anything out that way, or anything else? Could fit into a 'Far Future' setting.

Foreven sector is the one spinward of the Marches. It is (or was anyway) a GM's special, so that nayone could do what they like with it wihtout any risk of being contradicted in print.

In fact it has been developed by fans online. Try : http://members.aol.com/dedly/traveller/sectors/foreven.html

for details.

The mapped interstellar states are not the limit of settlement. I would guess that many of the systems up to at least 100 parsecs in every direction from the traditionaly mapped areas have been setteld at some time in the past few thousand years.

What about Adventure 4: Leviathan - Didn't this cover some of the worlds beyond the frontier - I seem to remember the area was full of Solomani exiles from the SRW.

Plus the FASA modules: Sky Raiders trilogy takes place in the Far Frontiers sector. There was never the development that I would have liked. Client states, the Zhodani, Eeeeeeeeevil Empires. It could have been fun.

There is also some work done in the Traveller Chronicle regarding Far Frontiers. For me, it represents the frontier turned around. It is more Siberia then the Wild West. We have the Zhodani trying to impose their version of order upon the region, and Imperials steadily been pushed out.

The client states in the area provide lots of background for potental mini-conflicts between the two great Superpower (Consulate & 3I) whereby, they can ignore their moral imparatives and play the old game of imperialism.
