Can anyone point me to High Tech rules for RuneQuest RBP?

I'd like to give it a try with the Traveller setting. A couple people on this thread mentioned they have tried this, what do you use for weapons and armor stats.

I convert them from Traveller, and extrapolate from Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, Future World and Ringworld.

I can type up a list if you like.

Thanks for the reply. I played RuneQuest, about 20 years ago, I have the old rules. I like the skill advancement I think it would fit well with traveller.

I've been trying out the new Mongoose RuneQuest rules with Traveller for the past two Saturdays now.
I'm using the good old CT adventure Death Station.

First week was character generation and getting them to and onboard the research ship, we left it as the first of the cyber-zombies attacked...

Last week was survive the cyber-zombies and find out what happened from the research notes etc.

I wonder if they will come out with a Sci-Fi/High Tech source book for the RuneQuest RPS?

I'm working on an adventure that will use an ATV, the rules in Across the Bright Face are pretty good. But, the rules for the laser canon are not very satisfying.

Can anyone suggest a better treatment for the last canon?

Keep the energy point output from the power plant bit.

Every point of energy put into it does 1d12+6 damage, up to a maximum of 5d12+30.

Alternatively you can use it like a hosepipe and sweep an area - split the 5 attacks in any combination you like.

Your suggesting using a regular to hit on 8+?

Rather than the roll less than the number of ebergy points spent, which is the part that bothers me the most.

Do you mean when running it with regular Traveller rules or RuneQuest?

The idea I posted was for RuneQuest.

For Traveller, yes I'd keep 8+ to hit but the damage would have a base of 5d for 1 EP, and fire up to 5 shots or increase the damage by 5D, or some combination (1EP gets you an extra shot or adds 1d of damage).

I've yet to use the Runequest rules with Traveller. It's something that I have always wanted to try out. For the time I'm using Snapshot and CT.

The rules for the laser cannon on the ATV are not very satisfying as written in Across the Bright Face.

*Threadjack*

I just picked up the new runequest rules by Mongoose... looks like it would be pretty easy to adapt to sci-fi...

...Biggest diffs are in CG...

...and it's open supplement licensed.

They also did away with the hit-points track.

It's a fair sight easier to adapt than 3rd.
(Background=150% amongst various skills, including Language(Native)+50%; Profession=50% amongst various skills.)

I've seen this Traveller TFT site before, it looks like a good alternative system.

Funny thought, TFT was sort of the pre cursor to GURPS, which implies that it may be a good source for rules and info for the TFT adaptation.

To answer the original post. I have CT, the core T20 book, core T4 book but missing many other books, and a few TNE books (nothing core). Rules I use are CT + house rules.

Wow... That's very close to what we do. </font>[/QUOTE]Really? How close?

But, hey, we on the DBRP playtest need to see all incarnations we can. ;)
