We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
This is a great opportunity for a many plot twists:
- hidden clauses in the paperwork of origin about ownership and claims based on the initial deed
- they can attempt to find the legitimate owner, but if they all put in shares to reach 100% ownership it sounds to me like it could be a nice legal battle or just a simple process of going before some agency to incorporate themselves, hehe perhaps a qwk trip to a good forger
- they can attempt to get a megacorp to aid them in the expensive legalese by volunteering to perform some chartered duties
- an ancient debt could come back and be levied on the ship until the past trespass is rectified
- my favorite, have the scout services come up, tell them that a criminal agent who earlier found his way in to the Scouts illegally provided them with a stolen vessel, The Scouts could be willing to balance all accts and transfer ownership for an exchange of some exploration or delivery missions into some really nasty places... or even better... hire them to track down the original criminal which opens up even more potential quests.. sorry I'm an Evil GM... take care
