..sort of.

I dunno, maybe its against the rules or no one would participate, but I wonder if there was ever a thread for everyone to post a picture so we could have a face to attach to the otherwise faceless posts? Or do we want to remain faceless and so allow only our posts to inform what readers might think we look like?

You mean like this one of me coming home from work?

Sorry, couldn't resist. :D Okay here's me.

oo...good videos!

You know, back in the heady days of first edition D&D (1976) I used to rip up character sheets. Once when playing at a friend's house that guy started to cry and went off to sit on the dryer in the laundry room downstairs in the basement after I did that. His paladin had had his shiny +5 adamanitine plate eaten by a rust monster and then the character was killed in a fight with mere orcs. I remember it because it is one of those events me and my friends still laugh over. The guy was so arrogant until the rust monster showed up....he even laughed at it and said "One rust monster coming right up" like he was in a Monty Python skit or something.

I don't destroy character sheets anymore, and never did for Traveller even though I played it back at the same time as running D&D. Not sure why...maybe mortality was lower among players when we all understood that if the pilot gets killed in a rash gunfight for no good reason (especially rash when nobody gets EP in Traveller) then no one else can fly the scout ship home. Or fix the power plant and everyone then dies in space.

It seems to me that we all understood the greater need for teamwork given the ramifications of no one character being able to dominate a game like some fantasy RPG character classes might.

OK< here's me and my daughter Sarah....its weird how few pictures I have of me and my kids together..or even of myself. That's what happens I guess when you are the one documenting the family life. I included her because she has worked with me on so many of my alien wildlife posts here and on Freelance Trav's site and mag. So she's kind of like a contributor here, too.
