Wow, that's a lot

Apropos of nothing, I noticed on Amazon that the Arrival Vengeance folio adventure for MegaTraveller runs to over $400 new. It always makes me wonder if anyone actually buys these things . . .

Prices vary wildly. If you're patient you can find a deal. I got my copy 3 years ago on eBay for $8.35 including shipping.

There are some vendors on Amazon who price their products way too high. I have seen seen a battletech starter box, still in print, for $400; normal retail was around $60. Currently, there is a vendor who is selling $20 Warzone Resurrection miniatures For around $80. I do not know why there is such a mark up.

They are waiting for/gambling on that "one" desperate buyer. In the meantime, it's a small amount of inventory.

You have the same thing on Abebooks. Some incredibly high prices while the cheapest might be $3.

Amateurs.

Prices like this one are the problem with Amazon bots. Two people have sales on same item and utilize the bots. Each day, the bots check in on each other and raise the amount incrementally based on how many other options are out there and the other sale's current price. Obviously if Bob is selling his for $100 then, if it goes, I'll be the only one and can charge $125. Rinse and repeat.

You can see the hilarity that results here... (Link might be bad since its blocked for me at work)(google: Michael Eisen+Amazon)
