Writing group?

For those who have finished stories, you might want to check out self-publishing on Project Gutenberg, for a starter.

If you're gonna have a Writers group, why not tack on an Artists group for fans of Traveller? That way the two might synergize, telling stories with both word and image. Pictures = 1000 words.

Live via satellite, this is the Pakkrat.

There is already plenty of commentary on the art... each piece has room for comments. Many don't NOTICE it.

Well and good. I invite comments. They help me further tell the story to those who find interest in a written piece or image I've drawn. I know my art isn't the greatest and that I'm focused on anthropomorphism and telling stories through the images of Vargr and Aslan.

As a Referee in Traveller and other games, I often use simple art to help present an NPC, the PC cast, items and other game elements that I can render on paper, pencils and ink. Players in the past have been entertained by my artist impression of their characters and the situations.

So, don't be shy viewer. This tale is ongoing and like flykiller's statement, each image, each story is a short window into a wider world. The viewer has an opportunity to comment, contribute, question and otherwise enjoy with a modicum of interactivity.

For Net-7 News, this is the Pakkrat.

I find your character studies far too focused on the characters in isolation. I like Gevaudan's Jump and Jump Tuning because they're not isolated characters but are snapshots of the story.

Not sure what you mean. That the NPCs are coming in in small numbers?

If you read the captions under Pakkrat Art, you will find that each blurb gives a small glimpse into the story ... like one farms every 10 pages in a Graphic Novel. That is what gives a character in isolation.

With the latest Pakkrat fiction, we finally get to read a Vargr story actually unfolding.

That is what he meant (and I agree 100%).

Ah, I'm a bit slow. I seldom look at galleries. Makes me jealous! Having looked at Pakkrat's art now, well, yeah. I'm jealous and I see what flykiller meant.

I looked at the graphics, finally, and read the blurbs. Hey atpollard, you think Irene would be up for Marco having a few concubines?

As long as you don't mind editing the later stories so the armless Barron Marco Domici is raising Al. :)

Not all of my art concerning the story is put up in the Gallery. At least a couple are kinda risque and I am not read in on the movie rating of this forum and art gallery. I did post them elsewhere, but that might lead the viewer down a slippery slope of Not Safe For Work content not drawn by me. Investigative viewers can peruse my wiki page, "The Pakkrat", on the Traveller wiki for a link to that gallery.

Gevaudan's story, if not known can be found:

Compensatory, I am enjoying flykiller's Recovery Mission. I look forward to it every Sunday evening. It spurred me to work on a Scouts set of missions in Llizan (Knoellighz 0605) for a Vargr crew that far out in the Extents.

But perhaps aramis is right. An artist's group is easily covered by the comments sections under each piece. If a viewer has further questions about the content of a submission, I could further clarify the actions or situations that I draw. Yes, they are isolationist. The reason for this is that I used to draw my players' characters alone as character sketches. Players don't articulate well a verbal description and thus an image spoke for them. This grew in to snap-shots of the story. Another injustice I commit upon my story is that the images are not coming to me in chronological order. Finally, each work is coming to me mainly when I'm supposed to be doing something else....like my job. But do stay tuned. An audience is a great motivator.

From Deneb to Antares, to the Solomani Rim, this is Net-7 News.
