With all due respect... The Kinunir? Shadows? The others you mention are decent and TTA is great, but those two survive on nothing but nostalgia. Sure, The Kinunir was something special 30 years ago, but that was 30 years ago, before anyone knew any better. It does not hold up well (nor does RSG and TP, really, but they have a lot of crunchy goodness background stuff to redeem them). And Shadows... well, I suppose it depends on what you want from it. If you want an uncomplicated dungeon crawl where getting away is resolution enough, I guess it works fine. If you want something with some ort of explanation for what's actually behind the events, not so much...

Well Kinunir is definitely mostly nostalgia (I mean the whole thing involves the group being mostly career criminals :) ), but I think the Shionthy portion is a lot of fun, and that is the part that I remember the most when I think back on that adventure.

But I was including Shadows with the two, not as itself. By itself, you're right - it's a straight dungeon crawl, and not spectacular by any means.
 
I've found shadows an excellent test of every incarnations combat and spotting mechanics. I've run it under CT, MT, TNE, T4, T20 playtest draft somewhere in the middle, and T20 release, and MGT Playtest 2.0.

It is by no means a personal favorite, but a personal "testing tool".

My favorite, tho, is TTA.

You may have a point there. I have been doing some work on an adventure on Regina that involves natives from Shionthy, and in doing so I've begun collecting notes for a writeup of the whole system. There's admittedly a lot of potential. Alas, I always have far more ideas than I can finish up.

Easily, my all time favorite:

Across the Bright Face.

20 years ago I ran this as a "Schwarzenegger" / "Pitch Black" style action flick;

Lots of drama, outnumbered, bad guys chasing good guys, lethally hostile environment, lost in the desert wilderness, dwindling supplies, equipment breakdowns.

In the end, the party ran out of supplies, and held a dramatic "draw straws" lottery, to see who got to survive.

Probably one of the best gaming sessions of my 30+ years as a gamer, and to me illustrates the grittiness and drama that is Traveller.

I particularly liked the random event charts and planetary map, and have used a similar system for many Scout-type adventures.

Favorites that I've always wanted to run: Murder on Arcturus Station, Nomads of the World Ocean
 
In general, if people can recommend great adventures that are buried in some of the more obscure places (TD, High Passage etc.), I'd love to hear about them.

I get a LOT of mileage out of amber zones and patron encounters, more so than cohesive, concrete adventures. But it's not any one, but the way you can build a robust, reactive adventure experience out of a bunch of them and still play sandbox style.
 
I totally agree. For the first time ever I've been reading JTAS page by page, and 90% of the AZs I can see myself GMing, simply by adding local color and a campaign-specific framework.

Some published adventures OTOH are too flawed for repair IMO. Just not worth the effort.
 
I'd have once listed the Ancients Trilogy ("Shadows" / "Twilight's Peak" / "Secret of the Ancients"), but my all time favourite has got to be the Sky Raiders Trilogy. I loved that scenario, with the Ancients Trilogy now a close equal fourth.
 
For years, I'd have voted for Twilight's Peak, and I still rate that adventure very highly. But in the last couple of years, it's been edged out by, of all things, Safari Ship. Frankly, I'm as surprised as anyone that SS now rates that position, but after running it several times for different groups, I've come to see that it's a darned good SF story and quite different from the usual shooter.

I voted Skyraiders too. Loved that adventure. Brings back memories of a scummy student flat with lots of beer cans littered around the place and staying up until 4 am without any responsibilities whatsoever (lectures? what lectures?) ....ah paradise!
 
Not mentioned here - but we ran and enjoyed Prison Planet. Great Atmosphere. It kind of contrasts the reality of the prison with the eventual escape to freedom. It sure made my players think twice about breaking the law again....

In order of preference:

1- Chamax Plague (both scenarios): felt like we were in a black&white B monster movie.

2- Nomads of The World Ocean: again, very cinematic. Kind of like Dune but wet and it led to a lot of smaller adventures on the same world.

3-Night of Conquest: with slight additions and modifications of my own to get it to fit IMTU (more a diplomatic/spy mission gone sour than merchant adventurers) it was like a cross between Black Hawk Down and James Bond

Always wished I purchased the Skyrraiders set but never did...i might have to get the CD now that it's out again.
 
Twilight's Peak was a good one, but my favorite is The Traveller Adventure. I prefer the merchant side of things to combat-oriented adventures and both adventures offered that in abundance. Also, both of these adventures required the following of clues to the solution of a mystery. Being a big fan of mystery novels, I liked that too.
