EABA traveller

The Thing

SOC-13
Has anyone ever done a version of traveller using the EABA system as a base? I think that eaba would be a very good system for traveller, altho it needs a space combat system.

The "stuff" book would be good for making traveller gear.

All in all I think that eaba would be an excellent system for people who want more resolution that CT but don't want the complexity of GT and can't stand D20.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is EABA?

BTRC's "End All Be All" (EABA) Universal system, using naught but d6's, roll many, keep 3.

Written by Greg Porter, who is, for most intentions and purposes, BTRC. Point based CharGen, has vehicle design, weapon design, and paranormal abilities, as well as combat, interaction, and a variety of non-combat rules in a 128pp ruleset.

(My name appears in it.... Playtester. Ran the OTU using it. Worked well...)

The main (only?) problem with EABA is that BTRC is but a one-man outfit (Greg Porter). Otherwise it is a splendind set of rules for ANY background. Including Traveller.

The same could be said about Porter's earlier CORPS (gritty, not-too-complex 1D10 rollunder system) and TimeLords (complex and realistic 1D20 rollunder system).

The three of them would be fine for Traveller. Which is the best? Well, it depends on your tastes...

GK: CORPS is not a roll-under system.

CORPS is Skill compares to TN, if it exeeds, success, if equal, marginal/graze, if less, roll 1d10. THe 1d10 roll is a roll under a TN of 11-(2x shortage in skill)

Most often, CORPS is a "no roll needed"

And once you've done that get straight down to DriveThruRPG and get a copy of 3G3 (guns, guns, guns 3rd edition..a great resource).

BTRC: Blacksburg Tactical Research Center. A business name under which Greg Porter does business as a game designer/publisher and game design consultant.
