What if Star Wars was like Traveller?

But star wars IS like traveller.. Or Traveller IS like StarWars...My first Traveller universe had George Lucas's Empire in a cold war with Alan Dean foster's Commonwealth...

According to this comic, it looks as though Star Wars is Traveller wrung through the mind of a highly imaginitive teenage girl.

I had seen DM of the Ring before, but this is even better. Thanks for the link.

According to MWM's articles, Traveller's OTU is heavily influenced by SW. It was in the works, inspired by Asimov, Doc Smith, EC Tubbs, and others, but Star Wars provided the final impetus to bring it to publication... and put a new slant on it.

That slant seems to be pretty pervasive in the 1979-1984 stuff.

Oh man, that thing takes me back to nearly every game I've ever run or played in. The lines are hilarious but sooooo true:

"I take all the blasters so we can sell them later."

"Its a space game, its supposed to have blasters."

"Shhh, he's trying to feed us the plot!"

Komedy with a K!

Why do Imperial gunners suck so badly? Han, er, Jamison isn't even trying to evade in that old rust bucket and they can't hit him once with all those guns :nonono:

Love the clip by the way, of course :)

(...and the next few frames are the spinal mount firing up and the poor Beowulf just disappearing as a glowing cloud :file_23: ...well, unless the Psionic (dark) Knight aboard the cruiser wants to capture the Princess alive of course.)
