Don't Panic

(shuffles between the rows of seats with a hot dog and a cup of cola, settles down and puts on some oversized 3D glasses)

"I heard something big was being announced here; are these the commercials I'm watching or is it the main feature?"

You haven't missed much. It's just warming up. Popcorn?

At the moment it's the projectionist making shadow puppets.

Hi

I resemble that remark. Or at least the photo. And that's no monkey. It's an ape.

I had thought that in Traveller terms all of Humaniti were uplifted primates, though I might be misremembering. Maybe they were just very intelligent primates, or maybe the only uplifted ones were they Vilanin and the Zho....

Uh-oh

You're not Zhodani are you?

Monkeys split from apes many millions of years earlier than the apes split from each other.
Ape=Gibbon, Chimp, Banobo, Gorilla, Orangutan, all members of genus homo, all members of genus australopithecus.

Been there, done that. If you can avoid it at all, don't talk in your sleep ;)

And remember, all the tinfoil does is make your neighbors worry and set off the metal detectors at the port... hehehe...

In all seriousness, my players have accused me of being zhodani as well, since I am able to pronounce their words... я знаю по-Русский, так по-Жоданий ето не проблема.

Dude, you have no idea. *wink*

So you ARE Zhodani! I KNEW IT!!!!!!:frankie:

What does the Russian mean, though?

MIT did a study and found that the tinfoil doesn't repel the secret gov't microwaves, it focuses them more into your brain. Makes 'em hot and sparky, too.

Per Babel Fish:
"I know on- Russian, so on -[Zhodaniy] [eto] not the problem"

close, but not quite...
по- is the prefix indicating a reference to a language.

I know language-russian, so language-zhodanij this no problem.

In "gamer-ese" wouldn't that be "... *snip*...From the Kamchatka peninsula!"

That would be in Russia, FYI. The only place you can actually see Russia from Alaska at is the Diomede Islands... one is Russian, one US.

On the other hand, something like 5% of the state speaks Russian, and 15%+ hear it in church. Alaska was, after all, a Russian Colony first...

I was wondering why steam was coming out my ears. Maybe if I poke my head with a big fork (like a baked potato) it would help.

Ouch

Ouch

Ouch
