That would be in Russia, FYI. The only place you can actually see Russia from Alaska at is the Diomede Islands... one is Russian, one US.

On the other hand, something like 5% of the state speaks Russian, and 15%+ hear it in church. Alaska was, after all, a Russian Colony first...

Nowhere south of the Columbia River was actually colonized; yes, there were a few forts, but not really a civilian population... unlike Alaska.

More often than any of the 4 governments involved care for. Tho' it's almost always by boat. Swimming that water is usually fatal.

Also when the ice is in, there is a lot of snomobile traffic from AK to Siberia as people shuttle back and forth to visit relatives.
