Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Another excellent design and deckplan. I'm sorry Beerfume is getting to the end of the alphabet because that means we won't be getting any more free stuff!
I've always thought that the classical 1000dTon tender design was "too much ship" for the job. This design fixes that issue and adds more color to x-boat operations.

I like it; it is a very efficient and useful design that makes sense as a supplement to those big, expensive Type XTs that would otherwise be lumbering around all over a planetary system.
Also, I am sure that the fact that it resembles an electric ice cream maker refilling an ice cream cone is the purest of coincidences.
Another excellent design and deckplan.

the economical running pf the x-boat network would require more than the 1,000 dton Tender and a J-4 Xboat.
So he still has XL station (large with main hangar for X-boat repair and small bay for utility craft alond well established route.
X-shutle to ferry back to XL-Station individual X-boat that can't be repaired locally,
X Tug, to haul to or from XL station X-Boat in need of in-system repositionning
Of course the jack of all trade Tender is still present and a more up to date design would be welcome
The big challenge would be an integrated X-boat station and Scout base for asteroid world where there is no point to have a "dirtside" base. Of course, a large asteroid may be dragged out to be used as hull..
have fun

A Tender capable to hangar X-boat and remains as such for the habilit
Well this is embarrassing... It was just been pointed out to me that the X-boat Station I posted two years ago is not really 200 dtons. It's actually 400. Seems kind of obvious now when you consider it has 170 tons of fuel. The maneuver drive and power plant are calculated correctly for a 400 ton ship per CT Book 2, it was just a dumb typo. Thanks to blog reader D M for pointing it out.
I've updated all related images and PDFs, including the 25mm plans, the 15mm plan PDF collection, and the most recent +100 ton variant (now 500 tons), so if you are a stickler for errata, it has been corrected.
The updated original post (and revised 25mm PDF) can be found here.

The updated 500 ton variant (no deck plans) can be found here.
