A question of scale

I'm in the process of making a Traveller based short CG film set during the ISW. I've modelled all the ships I will use, and now I am tackling the scale of those ships that appear in Traveller books. I want an accurate representation if possible. The problem ship is the Vilani Kargash light cruiser since no deckplans or dimension specifications exist for it. If I go by dton's then the Kargash is about 82m (90yards) in length, but this seems too small.

I have rendered a scale comparison of the Lightning vs the Kargash. I estimated the Kargash to be larger, around the 102m (110yards) mark. What do you guys think, did I get it right or should I go with the smaller size?

Can't answer to their relative sizes, but the visualization would be improved if the Kargash's top turrent was the same size as the smaller Lightning's. (Or a different design if it is supposed to be a larger weapon.)

Also, the bridge windows (assuming) of the Kargash could use something to give a clue to scale in relation to the smaller.

You should be able to get a reasonable idea of the displacement using boxes scaled to fit the ship (not exact, but good enough for this).

Unless they're in the same shot, nobody will notice anyway!

Unfortunately the turrets are different. The Lightning is equipped with light turrets, whereas the Kargash has heavies. It was the bridge windows and those on the side that I used to estimate the current scale.

Valid point! They are in the same shot, but separated by enough that it will not matter.
