Adv.1 - The Kinunir

Elliot

SOC-14 1K
This is my 100 post and this topic has been nagging me for a while:

What have players done with the Kininur after defeating the computer. I say that because it seems a bit strange that there is no real climax to the adventure!

In my campaign it was piloted to Regina and handed over to the Navy. The players all received knighthoods or (if already enobled) Imperial commendations as a reward. What else did people do?

We took a couple of nuclear armed missiles, and the specs of the black globe generator, and split. IIRC, we sold one warhead on the blackmarket, kept one for "emergencies" and we anonymously to the Navy where to find the Kinunir. We never did fence the black globe generator intell, (this was before Book 5) but we made a mockup out of balsa wood and flashing lights to tease the Navy. "We made it up. Does this mean they are real? Have you seen a real one? Why, no, we don't have a security clearance."

The very, very first Traveller game I ever played was a session of Adventure 1. The thing is, it was so long ago that I remember defeating the computer, but not what exactly happened next.

I do remember that I ended up with enough money to buy a 10-ton space fighter somehow and that was pretty much the end of the campaign.

Despite being discouraged from doing so, our group found out a way to salvage the ship intact, and declared it it's new home.

The quality of games kind of decreased from there as the difficulty of the adventures had to be reworked for the new acquired "equipment."

I never actually played Kinunir untill later in my Trav days. At that time we had a 300 ton Scout (WD40/41?), so we nicked the black globe and the ex-Navy engineer installed it with a few tons of jump capacitors. My character got caught shortly afterwards trying to sell some plans to the Zho's and ended up in Adventure 8 (Prison Planet). Never did find out what happened to the ship.

When I refered this one, I had the computer set in autodestruct sequence that would pilot the ship through the antimatter laden asteriod belt on collision course with the sun while at the same time projecting that they had successfully entered jump space.

They then tried to take the ship across the Imperial border only to be turned by Vargr mercs who had been originally hired to bring the ship to the Zhodani but renegged when Imperials offered more.
