Alternative CT settings/conversions

Ive been trawling the net for "alternative settings" for my CT campaign
so far i have found 2 on these forums the Fantasy setting and the Roman one, are there any others that people know of? i need it to slip straight into CT as the plan is to use the settings to represent the various TL in the sector.
Can anyone help, or suggest some others?

Cheers

I have been posting ideas for adventures and also settings in both the In My Traveller Universe sub-forum and also Random Static.

They are based on explorations during and shortly after the Victorian period, so would be in the range of Tech Level 4 and 5, although the African accounts would be earlier in terms of Tech Level. So far, I have posted material from Africa, Ceylon, the Russian Arctic, and China.

I guess it would depend on precisely how easily you expect to use this. As these are all first-person traveller accounts, you could possibly use them pretty much directly, with some changing of names.

All of the books that I am using are available for download from Project Gutenberg.

I put together some articles over on my blog using a 'fantasy' Conan-esq world and elements in the CT books to come up with a way to use the Traveller rules with a hard-fantasy background. There are some elements of Tunnels and Trolls incorporated (for dungeon-delving) but you may find some of the ideas helpful for your campaign.

Jump over to http://alegisdownport.wordpress.com and search on 'fantasy traveller'.

Happy adventuring!

Steve

Sorry, it's not free ... But I spent last year writing up an ATU at TL 9, the solar system colonised using Traveller rules, but with a TL 9 restriction ( and no jump drive, grav manipulation as well really makes it more of a TL 8 setting!)

See my sig.

This looks most interesting. I would ask you why the PDF is more than the softcover rulebook though?

I did a similar ATU many years ago within a multiple star system arrived at by a colony ship that left from Earth. The game setting is over a thousand years from arrival in that system. No FTL at all.

Mmm..? The PDF is £10.20, the softback is £12.99 (UK prices) I reduced the price of the softcover down to the lowest I could feasibly manage ... because - I like softbacks :)

I guess I was under the impression that selling material in the forum was prohibited. I guess that I was mistaken.

Selling non-Traveller materials is forbidden.
Paul is noted for his Mongoose Traveller supplements.

If I've broken a forum rule, I apologise... I don't pepper forums with sales pitches as a rule!

[m;]To be explicitly clear: You haven't broken the rules, Paul.[/m;]

That said, for your and others edification the rule is that Traveller licensees can advertise their Traveller products on COTI both in their signature and in posts. In general, new product announcements belong in the TNS section. In other areas, it should be, as you did, a response to an expressed need.

It matters little if that license is paid for (MGT or GT) or is the MGT TLL+OGL free license.
