It's been a while since I read the AN module, but as I recall the ship was a good one but nothing amazing and used no irreproducible technology.

Given those criteria, I'm surprised no one ever leased the design to produce a line of AN class vessels.

Why do I have the feeling I just gave some travellers an idea?

IMTU the AN is of Geonee design. As they are short-statured as were the crew accommodations.

I remember reading somewhere(jtas? adventure reprints?) that the name Annic Nova were supposed to be Valini numerals.

I have a FFS write up of Annic Nova using a TL16+ battery as an ancient artifact that the ship was built around. Essentially the ship was built at TL10 around a TL16 artifact that replaces the need for LHyd fuel.

Someone somewhere asked about Battletech Jump technology.
Well, BT uses solar collector just like the Annic Nova (only far larger), the differences being that Jump ships cannot maneuver with their sails deployed, must jump outside the Gravity well of the star (completely OUT of the solar system!) but jump is instantaneous.

In system Travel times become much longer, but the net result is still about a week between systems.
