Anyone ELSE having problems finding players

There are PBeMs on megatraveller.com and on rpol.net under sci-fi. I quite enjoy them, though I find playing styles vary a *lot* as do PBeM styles, and this sometimes causes some issues.

I'm lucky, as the GM of our group, whether it be AD&D or Traveller, I'm the motivator, so I get to choose the system (never get to PLAY it mind you, just GM it). My AD&D game has been running for well over a decade now. Traveller is our 'second choice' RPG.

Finding players can be a pox. I moved 150km from my players, so now we have to arrange monthly pilgrimmages and day long games whereas before a games evening would have been easy. But life goes on.

Try putting some adds up at your local games store, visit local cons and recruit, etc.

I had no problem getting players. After a year, though, I think it's gonna be tough keepin' them - a kinda centifugal force conspiring to keep us from our monthly meet...

I feel your pain ! I have no problem finding Miniature gamers , hi Fanatsy roleplayers, and family game-players, but finding Board wargamers and Lo Fanatsy (Ie- Traveller players is tough). My current RPG group, made up of good friends I am very comfortable with, are very rigid..they will only play Hi Fanatasy Games and subvert any kind of realistic role-playing possibilities. My current attitude is that I really enjoy developing a traveller caimpaign (I have a BS in Physics and a minor in Astronomy) for its own sake. I know that if I persever enough (game stores, cons, etc) I will eventually find the right players. Traveller, to me, is THE richest rpg universe there is, bar none..locating people who have seen the light like me will take time :0)

Our group has been at it for 8 years. We rotate through different games, according to the preference of the guy who's going to referee. It's okay, but nothing does it for me like Traveller.
