Anyone ever hear of Star Hunter 2300?

Never heard of it. It looks a bit of a cheapy. GFX like Babylon 5. But, I just watched a 5 min clip at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4gU7auw1yc&NR=1

Gotta admit, it doesn't look half bad. Usually these cheapies have crap acting and never take themselves seriously. I don't think any actor in that clip will ever win an Oscar, but the shows seems to be trying to be good.

I'm interested. I'm going to check and see if Netflix has it.

Thanks for the tip.

Its pretty cheesy, but I did get a Traveller vibe from it. Netflix has both Starhunter and Starhunter 2300 (the sequel series). You can even watch some of the 2300 episodes on the netflix site if you have a membership.

Cheesy like Dr. Who?

Cheesy like Farscape? (Which is a step above Dr. Who?)

Cheesy like Andromeda or Stargate/Atlantis? (Which is a step above Farscape.)

I don't follow any of those shows. The cheese factor is too high for me. But, I quite liked Babylon 5 at the time it came out (not sure about today). And, Firefly was great. (The new Battlestar Galactica is incredible, but that's "art" compared to most TV scifi shows.)

Just curious what I'm in for if I Netflix the first episode.

I'll admit, that clip on YouTube showed some cheap GFX and cheap sets, but the story/acting didn't look too bad. I might give it a shot.

Do you remember the old Fox action pack shows that spawned Hercules and Xena? Its almost at that level (hovering somewhere around Andromeda levels).

Netflix has these on instant view... I've seen 1 1/2 episodes. They are cheesy on the level of Xena and Hercules... they do have a Traveller vibe~ish to them and I did get the thought of "bounty hunty" in OTU and how/why it would be needed and how it would work.....

Nice. I watched it with the sound off so the acting didn't bug me. It looked like a Star Wars fan film - in a good way; Cheap but enthusiastic. Nice gun too.

Could've done with some funky aliens to give it some colour.

I recognise the big guy in the bar too. Can't remember where from.

nice!

Too bad the series sucked....

2300 was a followup to the first season StarHunter....

Seems the sci-fi we've got is all paranomral wierd science stuff.... only 1 active space sci-fi (AFIK) and it's slated to end....

I think Traveller OTU would be an awesome setting for a very long running series....
