Aslan and Hivers and Droyne, oh my!

I am trying to find minis of the various canonical Traveller races in the 25mm-ish size. Is there any one here that can help? Figures for sale or anything?

Also, does anyone know of a good Zhodani mini? I am especially looking for the stereotypical noble; tall, thin and turbaned.

There are some figures of traveller aliens on Ebay. There are some also new figures on the market - newts, kkree. I think they are by Ad astra.

Cheers
Richard

Some of the Traveller figures that I have seen on Ebay are supposedly recasts, and thus violations of copyright. Also, the quality is not very good.

Mega Minis was making some, but I heard they have discontinued their line. Really bad timing for that decission, since MGT will be making such minis popular again...

As I recall, continuation of the line was dependent on selling out each "limited edition" series prior to launching the next ones. They did really well with the Vargr line they created (and I'm still kicking myself for procrastinating my way out of buying a couple of sets); but their K'kree and Newt series completely crapped out after just a few weeks, and never really sold well at all. There are plenty of both still on eBay, if you want to pick some up.

But, frankly, Mega's K'kree just weren't up to the same design level that the Vargr were, and I just couldn't see them sharing table space with my old Grenadier horsies. Their Newts were all right -- and I'll probably spring for some, down the road -- but I'd see much more value for that set if it didn't contain just one "towelhead" bureaucrat for all the umpteen rifle-wielding infantrybwap freeloaders loafing along for the ride.

My FLGS currently has one pack each of the K'kree and Newts. I can't say that I was all that impressed with either of them. I had seen a review of the newts describing them as carrying giant pencils, and now I can't get that image out of my mind when I look at them.

Yes! That's exactly what I thought they looked like, too!

Still, as I said: I'd get a pack -- if they'd only put more "towelheads" in it. Newts packin' guns is just somehow ... wrong.
