Aslani warships

Oz, can I ask you how you put the SSD together and how did you manage to post it on this thread? When I try to post an image it asks for a URL?

Mark, how's the review going? ;)
It's almost done actually. I've been busy over the past week became I may be REALLY close to finding gainful employment again! Since I'm in going to be in limbo until Thrusday, I suppose I can burn the midnight oil and finish it.

Also, I'm trying to peice together a reference sheet like the one I composed for Escort. I'll send that one to you as soon as it's done.
</font>[/QUOTE]Good luck with the job....

as to the reference sheet, please direct email it to me. Looks like the website will need a big update...

I have now done three versions of the Weakhto SSD available here:
Original Weakhto cruiser

The "fast" Weakhto-class Destroyer Leader

My suggested "Heavy" Weakhto-class Destroyer Leader

The "Original" one is the ship based solely on the original MT data. The "fast" Weakhto is the one I posted earlier, with the corrections added. The "heavy" Weakhto is similiar to Sigg's idea, but without the extra armament.

There was one more mistake on the SSD I first posted. I gave the ship Sand-2 batteries instead of Sand-1. I have corrected this on all the SSDs.

All these SSDs were first created in MS Word, cutting and pasting the various icons into a document. I used the "Print Preview" command to see the whole document and then did a screen capture to get a bitmap image of the SSD. I then edited the bitmap in Printshop Pro and then saved it as a .jpg file. The result is fuzzy when enlarged and does not print very well, so there's still work to be done.

As for posting that one, I first uploaded it to my personal web page, and then used the [Image] command here on CotI.

One more "variant" on the Weakhto-class would be to keep it at 3-G but add some fighters to give it extra punch against pirates and smaller ships. This would really enhance its value as a convoy escort.

I would want to know how the Aslan would use them in combat, but that may be another topic in its own right (which I won't start but encourage someone else to).

I'm not sure just what you mean by "use them in combat," Jame? The Weakhto-class ships are large escort ships and would be used to engage small enemy ships and (in PP:F) they could also add to the point defense of nearby friendly ships. Since the Weakhto-class have large numbers of less effective (in HG terms, low USP factor) weapons batteries they can't hope to do much against a well-armored ship, but they can engage a large number of lighter vessels, such as fighters. The Weakhto-class would make a fair (not great, but fair) anti-fighter escort.

Thanks for all your hard work Oz

Just one last question, how did you get the icons into word format. I can not cut and paste any of the SSD icons posted on the PP web site :(

Sigg: I downloaded the .TIFF file with the icons from the PP website. I then used PaintShop Pro to convert that into a .bmp file. I then opened that .bmp file in PaintShop Pro and cut and pasted the icons I needed from there into MS word using the "selection" tools of PaintShop Pro.

I think you pretty much answered my question. But to be clear, "use them in combat" means "how are they supposed to be used to kill or drive off enemy ships" which is what you told me.
