Baddies from D&D, Cthulhu...

Ok, on this board, we have discussed taking baddies from Fantasy Games like D&D, Runequest, L5R, etc. and baddies from Call of Cthulhu. But has anyone liberated baddies (and here I one can include humans). On occasion, I have used James Bond 007 RPG and Top Secret for Traveller scenarios updating the Tech. by making countries - Planets and whatnot. What have others done?

I wrote a Traveller fanfic using both the Byahkee from Cthulhu and a Mind Flayer...I think. It was many years ago. It was a Cthulhuesque type of write-up.

Basically it was Darrian and a Droyne Sport (?) sent to find someone lost in a dangerous, hill-lined valley of the Byahkee (winged beast). The Mind Flayer had a, crude, underground "lab" where he'd take bodily-whatevers off his victims and use some of it to give his body vitality and keep him alive.

I think their friends showed up and figured out where they'd gone too, finding their starship nearby (or small craft) then discovered the underground.

Boy that was a while ago. I think I uploaded it to FictionPress.com.

I use Mind Flayers as an inter-dimensional menace discovered when a matter transporter experiment went horribly wrong; now that they know our dimension exists, they pop in every once in a while.

I used to mine the Monster Manuals liberally for non-sentient monsters to use as fauna on alien worlds. Shriekers were cultivated by Hivers as security devices. Even gelantinous cubes showed up on a Hiver ship as a species engineered to reduce waste material to base matter.

I even used kobolds, orks, and trolls in a campaign setting on a post-nuclear holocaust world where the entire civilization consisted of mutants living in huge underground caverns.
