Best CT magazine or fanzine?

I'm very impressed with Third Imperium. It's a great Traveller 'zine.

Besides the "official" CT mags, like JTAS and Traveller's Digest, I'm not that familiar with the various Traveller mags (both "official" and unofficial).

Which Traveller mags (either fanzine or "official" magazine) do you think are the best ones?

Which ones should I hunt down?

High Passage became a surrogate JTAS with more adventure thrown in and its successor Far Traveller was not bad.

On the whole JTAS represented the higher word of GDW, most of the other magazines represented fanboy (fangirl?) fantasies. So each one was different and worthy but lacked the professional polish. For instance, I like Kevin Knight's Traveller Chronicle and High Passage.

I loved High Passage and Third Imperium the best, of all those I've seen.

I'm partial to Stellar Reaches, of course, but consider it an homage to those that have come before.

I never saw any of the fanzines before the last six months or so, but Security Leak and now Third Imperium joining Stellar Reaches online is a great thing.

I hope that High Passage and Far Traveller make it to the FASA/Gamelords CD-ROM.

Then again, I hope there is a FASA/Gamelords CD-ROM.

Heck, I hope there really is a CT CD-ROM at this point . . . :(

Oh, and I'm becoming a big fan of back issues of Traveller's Digest - some really great work in those pages.

Traveller's Digest is the tops, but I counted it as too official and professional to be a fanzine.

Well, the original post did ask about favorite fanzine or "official" magazine, so I figured I could get away with a TD holla. ;)

For the most part, yes. However, the first six or so issues where very much "fanzine", so at least part of its run definitely qualifies.
