I'm afraid it got lost when one of the "pissed off by staff, so I'll delete everything" types pulled out (deleting the first post usually deletes, or at least orphans, the whole thread). Either that, or it was before the switch to vBulletin.
There were glitches when that switch was made, and very few of those threads show up on Google.

Drat. That's too bad.

Some day I'll have to look into getting all the different printings of each book...

I don't recall ever seeing such a thread, but then I did take a hiatus from these boards for a while.

I have several different printings of the 77 rules and there is not a single difference.

There has to be someone on these boards with first printing - if so answer one question - what do the rules say about laser turrets on ships? Small, medium and heavy lasers turrets or single, double and triple turrets?

Question - Do you have the UK printings or the US printings?

My copy of the 1977 rules, print run unknown, has single, double, and triple laser turrets. I assume that it is US printing.

UK printings were done by Games Workshop under license. I have reason to suspect the differences in GDW printings were NOT mirrored in the GW printings.

A mixture of both.
I have three US 77 editions, the earliest being print run 3, the second is print run 13 and the final one is still sealed (the one I got from the T5 kickstarter).

The UK printings don't have the handy print run number unfortunately.

Every single copy has single double and triple turrest and no mention of small, medium and heavy lasers.

1.5 meter squares for use with Snapshot or Azhanti High Lightning

"1.5 meter squares for use with Snapshot or Azhanti High Lightning."

Now that's a phrase that takes me back! :)

The action point system from Snapshot was the best. That gave us, (at least the group I played with,) the mechanism we needed to use all those cool deck plans that came out over the years. Our characters crawled all over every one of them. Snapshot was great. It was simple. It was fair. And it was fun!

Not that it's difficult to incorporate Snapshot into any version of Traveller that uses the UPP, I am truly sorry that it has never been officially adopted into any of the editions of the game that followed. If anyone ever writes T6, don't forget to incorporate the movement rules from Snapshot. It was great!

An odd poll with odder choices.

Having LBB1-3 as an option should trump all others. Without the Original Three, all the other stuff wouldn't exist.

I voted for LBB1-3 and Other with Other meaning The Traveller Adventure.

The LBB's gave me the rules and ways to create encounter. TTA showed me how to use those rules and encounters to create long lasting, multiple sessions, multiple adventure, campaigns with story arcs.

There have been other, better, campaign sourcebooks - take a bow Path of Tears - but TTA was the first.
