Which is pretty much what DGP did with MegaTraveller.

I also liked the stuff they did to de-couple skills from promotions with the extra skills roll. The characters got more skills, but this also serves to even out the imbalance between the skills you get from the basic Bk1/Supplement 4 and the enhanced character generations systems. I largely use CT/Striker but I do use the character generation systems from Megatraveller.

The closest to what I use is probably MT basic.

The CT chargens will always stand out in my mind. I really liked the year-by-year of the expanded CT, but the characters were overpowered when compared to CT basic. When MT added homeworld skills, that was a great touch, but for some reason, MT chargen doesn't really stand out in my mind as being anything spectacular aside from that. Maybe it's because I didn't have a gaming group available when MT came out.

The special duty roll and the rule of 4 are why I like MT basic - I still use a trimmed down CT skill list though.

I like CT Expanded. MT's was a good consolidation of CT but it went a little too far and got a little too fiddly.

I voted MegaTrav Basic - I like the homeworld skill defaults, and the 18 careers (although I would have liked to see even more). The skill list was too long I think, so I would pare that down some.
I do like the Mongoose rule that the first term in a career gets all the service skills at level 0.

I hadn't realized it was such a sensitive issue. I was simply joking around. Heck, I worked on T4 so it's not like I don't understand about errata!

I voted other.....Either MT Basic or MgT 1st. I can't really pick which one I like better. And given a chance, will probably combine the two. :smirk:

The special events tables that go with MgT character generation add to the Special Duty roll in MT IMHO - well worth combining the two.
