Classic Adventures/Double Aventures that have...

Hey folks!

I was reading through my collection and figured may as well ask here.

Does anyone have a list of which classic adventures/dbl adventures have opportunities for players to acquire a ship?

I could have sworn there were a couple where they find salvageable derelicts or such.

Several of the adventures just 'assume' the party has one but I'm again looking for where they found/fix/etc...

I of course can make it up entirely (or I suppose the PCs could be pirates), was just wondering if there were any where it had already been done. And no I don't mean Grandpa Ancient...

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm...

Annic Nova (though it is quite different than your regular starship.)

Kinunir (If the Imps will let you keep it.)

Death Station (maybe, maybe not. Depends on how the Ref runs it.)

Expedition to Zhodane (if your PCs are right bastards and kill the professor.)

That's all I remember right off the bat without re-reading them.

Adventure 3, Twilight's Peak, starts with the PCs in possession of a decrepit Far Trader (with lots of deferred maintenance, including a J-2 drive that can only do J1 at the start of play).

The boxed adventure Tarsus has the possibility of acquiring a very old Sword World Patrol Cruiser, which can be repaired and then sold to finance a Free Trader. Against that, depending on the make-up of the player group, they might want to keep the Patrol Cruiser.

I think you can get a ship in Imperial Fringe, if you don't already have one.

But it's "only" a scout/courier and it's tied to a specific job.

As for the OP's question, apart from Kinunir and Expedition to Zhodane there are no Adventures or Doubles in which a ship is either the reward or can be salvaged.

you missed Annic Nova - DA1

Yes, I'm kind of repeating myself...

The Empress Nicholle*, as presented in Adventure 3, is a do-it-yourself (did-it-to-themselves?) salvage operation on the PC's own rustbucket.

Clear kCr 350 on the "pot of gold" at the end of the adventure, and your J1 heap of self-propelled scrap metal is now a slightly less decrepit J2 heap...

*My mistake in my earlier post. Was there ever a canon Far Trader named Empress Marava? DA6: Divine Intervention/Night of Conquest (in the latter scenario) has the Scotian Huntress -- where else did this ship class appear?

The A2 Far Trader is actually a fairly useful adventuring platform (but not really economically viable under normal trade rules). Big enough to haul a tournament-sized group of PCs in not-overly-cramped quarters, but not enough cargo space to get by just on generic cargo. J2 to get off the Mains when required by the plot. Can be armed-up a little, but too slow to be a good pirate ship. And it's got an Air/Raft.

How do you salvage something you already own?

How do you salvage something which is already flying?

Repairs and upgrades are different from salvage.

The main difference is that the PCs don't have to find it (and possibly fight their way through it) before starting work on it. All they need is money and a Class A shipyard.

But it's your question, so if that doesn't satisfy your criteria I'll let it drop.

The original Rescue on Ruie Amber Zone has Papa Oberlindes giving a ship as a reward for a successful extraction.

Foodrunner has a "Hunk o' Junk" as payment for the delivery and return.
