Crew Duties

TNE does have some good rules, they are just utterly over-complex. One day I'll get around to paring them down to CT size so I can use them.
I may end up selling my TNE stuff before that day occurs around my house. Right now, I'm looking at the spines of some of my TNE stuff, and I'm wondering when the last time I cracked them open.

It's got to be years.

Wouldn't a medic / gunner be working against the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm?
Not unless he's against violence of any kind -- e.g. Naval corpsmen, whose jobs were to render first aid to marines wounded in foxholes (cf Iwo Jima - what a mess!), had sidearms just in case.

By Vietnam and later, they carry the same weapons as a standard soldier... as most enemies we have faced since Korea specifically prefer Medics/Corpsmen as targets, in order to decrease the survival rate of our other wounded.

Zho spotter: "What's that? In the distance...looks like a tank, wait....no, it's a trooper in powered armor. Big Red Cross right in the middle of it's torso."

Spotter turns to Zho commander: "Are they taunting us, sir? Daring us to take out their elite powered troops by painting a bullseye right on the target's chest? Or...that kinda looks like a Solomani Cross...do you think the Confederation has sent troops all the way out here to help the Imperials?"

Zho commander: "No son. That's their medic corps. They're doing what they can to protect 'em. Tell Vlandt to get the missile launcher ready."
