Design Discrepancies

No matter how many times I punch the numbers into my calculator, I can't resolve the way that High Guard calculates purifier plants against the alternative way that TCS describes it.

A 75000 ton ship, TL 14 with Jump 4 and Power Plant 6 has 34500 tons of fuel.

We divide by 1000 to get 34.5 and multiply by 20 to get 690 tons.

The TCS method says that the size is 0.2% of the fuel capacity, so we multiply 34500 by 0.2 and then divide by 100. This gives 69.

The Regal shows 69 in its worksheet, although I've detected a number of anomalies in the design which I will describe later.

Perhaps I have a dodgy edition of TCS?

Am I going crazy ?????

There is an error there. You did the calculations the way the books state. FYI a T20 Fuel purification plant @TL14 for the same fuel comes in at 690 tons. My guess is that there is a typo in TCS.

Thanks, I shall assume that the TCS stuff is wrong. Interestingly, the Regal class design in TCS seems to have a number of problems with it, bridge costs, repulsor factors, missile factors and costs of low berths...!!

Never mind, here is the current form of the program, comments and criticisms please.
