General Dumarest in 2018!

Hawk the Slayer was AMAZING (says the 12 yr old version of me). I’d love to watch it again now.

I thought Star Crash was a great movie... when I saw it in the theaters as a 10 year old.

Then I saw it on one of last years' new MST3K episodes. And was it horrible! But the MST3K treatment was hilarious.

I used to think that “Lost In Space” was a great program at the same age. I binge-watched the first six episodes a few years back and, except for the first two episodes, I was amazed at how bad it was. From the third episode on, it was about the adventures of a young boy, his over-the-top adult emo friend, and their dorky robot.

Warlords of Atlantis is another one - would love to see that again... I think!

Lots of things don't age well from childhood. In hindsight, it's no surprise to reminisce about our parents wondering "how can you watch that stuff". They were right, at least to them, it was all terrible.

Amazingly, however, I found the the original Thunderbirds show aged pretty well, I think mostly as it's audience wasn't 7 year olds. There's some pretty exciting stuff in there.

However, I rematched the "UFO" show, and, no, it did not age well. I haven't tried "Space: 1999".

Just rewatched Blade Runner.

Vision, talent and money, though Ridley Scott implies he's stingy in comparison to Star Wars.

My wife and I tried to rewatch BR about the time the new one came out. We couldn't get through it. :nonono:

Everyone has their own taste in what they like to see. :p

Cheers,

Baron Ovka

I have always welcomed any opportunity to see Gabrielle Drake -- in a purple wig or not!

Getting back on-topic, the main thread of the books is about social disparity: the abjectly impoverished, dirt-bound masses pitted against the mobile ultra-weathy. If the upcoming show does not have that as a central feature, it has already failed. Mobility as Power is a major theme in American culture as well.
