Experience/skill advancement in old school Traveller

If characters want to gain experience, I made them game it out. No free lunch.

One Rogue character sort of accidentally walked into the Kinunir scenario. She rolled a drunken Noble and took his paperwork. After she was beaten by some of his thugs, she found an ex-Army Major to teach her brawling skill.

Sigg Oddra's method is a good one for NPCs, even PCs who are out of circulation for a while.

BadBru's method works just as well for active characters.

The one thing I wouldn't want in a Traveller experience system is a way for a player character to gain more skills during play than they could during character generation.
