WHEN?

I had my AHL combat rules 'forcibly mis-placed' from me several years back and have been waiting for a lead on a copy to help my campaign out for some time. I got all the rest (except Dark Nebula and Invasion:Earth), but really NEED just the Azhanti rules....so:

(as my three year old would ask): Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???

(I know: due out in May ~ late May - early May -Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???Is it out yet???)

Again, to quote my three year old: "Whhaaaaaaauuuuuuuggghhh!!!"

Patience is a virtue -

In the mean-time, I found a copy of the action points charts from AHL to go with the remains of my AHL maps and counters, I have Striker, and I have notes on the Red/Green Equipment explosions....so besides the really cool scenarios - can anyone tell me what do I need to simulate the AHL combat system for my intrepid party until ...<sniff, whimper>...June?

I am just glad that someone is reprinting traveller, I have the 4 books currently out and have alot more books then when GDW was printing them.

If you have Striker and the APs info you've just about got the lot. The ranges and penetrations are slightly different between the two games, but all you need to sort out is the effect of hits on PCs. You can get this from Striker.

June is here is there any date set for sure for its release. I also have a voucher for an upcoming offer with it, what 's up with that.
Looking forward to it being in my house.

FFE 005 now scheduled for mid July. I apologize, but I would rather have it right than on time (I'd rather have both, but that is not to be).

FFE has the game rules text for Imperium, Mayday, Snapshot, Azhanti High Lightning, Fifth Frontier War, Invasion: Earth, Dark Nebula, and Striker. It has pictures of the game maps and the counter sheets (in color).

As to the voucher, its an as yet un annouced offer that. The voucher is to make sure people who ordered from FFE got credit for participating.

I would rather you get it right and a little late than have mistakes in it too. I guess I am being a little impatient.
Hearing about the reprints was a fluke on my part. I decided to get back into some serious roleplaying about 6 months ago. I dusted of my somewhere between 15-25 rpgs. Looked them over and decided on 3 little black books to start with a new group of rpgers. That was all I had then searching the web came across the reprints. I have all the reprints now out and plan on getting the rest as they come along. Personally I would not mind seeing the alien modules moved up on the production schedule to come out before some of the other material.

Amen to that!!

My own preference would be to swap what are currently shown as FFE006 /-/ FFE008 with FFE009/-/FFE011 in the schedule. As others have said, for all CT is not a "State of the Art" RPG, the reprints are an eminently playable system and I think FFE might miss out on some converts and sales if the Modules and Aliens stuff is left until after the JTAS Archives.

Yes. When my current D&D group finishes (or gets tired of) our current campaign, I'm going to get them to try some Classic Traveller. Although Traveller was the first RPG I ever played, none of them have ever tried it. (Sadly, it seems most have barely heard of it.)

I know one of their first questions will be about playing aliens, and if I tell they I don't have those rules yet, somebody is probably going to be put off by that.

That's awesome news.
I used to have copies of Imperium and Dark Nebula years ago and have never been able to find replacements.

Ultimately I would love to box up all my ASL Advanced Squad Leader stuff and replace my gaming table with these!

"It has pictures of the game maps and the counter sheets (in color)."

All I need to do now is find someone to print up counters for me and enlarge the maps-mount them

Ah, Dark Nebula.

You know, I migt just get that down some time soon and play it again. I was never really a war gamer (straight in to RPG's for me, thanks to D&D and the LBB's) but as the only surviving element of my original games collection, I have a soft spot for DN...

I may yet try out my CT newbies in the Nebula setting as Andy Slack has written up for GT...

Once FFE5 ships, I'll see if I can find a method to mount the counters/maps. If so, I'll post it here.

I agree, I would save the JTAS for last.
