Battle Control & Repair. The section relates mostly to damage control during battle. Currently if you have had crew casualties, your ship is un-repairable, even after the battle when time is not so pressing. Can you repair a broken (not destroyed) JD after a battle to facilitate limping to the nearest port.

This is answered in the Field Repair rule in TCS (p. 34), but the answer to your question is if you cannot bring your crew up to full strength, you're basically screwed.

:-) I'll add it to my list of house rules;

Field repairs (TCS pg 34) to allow J1 are possible with less than full crew, with increased chance of mis-jump & permanent loss. Say 4+ on 2d6 for success (91.6% success each J1 made). Failure results in the total loss of the ship (or a good role play scenario...).
