[GIMP]Geodesic Maps

Since GIMP has great terrain mods available, I was wondering if anyone converted some scripts for the I-series of global maps such as the geodesic version and so on. Sure, I could count hexes out but I figure between HexGIMP and the enterprising minds here, someone must have come out with a geodesic template.

Anyone?

Recall a tutorial on these boards ... try a search.

If GIMP supports importing PostScript/EPS, that is how I do things with InkScape.

The original HEXGimp was written to make old style D&D maps. They were hacked out of a guy's work to make them more colorful. I knew that there had to be a geodesic version because the guy who wrote the GIMP script has a random world map generator on his site.

I'm hoping that HEXGIMP will work with the stuff noted above. Haven't tested it yet.

Unfortunately, although predictably common, it doesn't work. The HEXGimp brushes are hexes that are rotated the wrong way.

Yep - if you want to use those tilings you'd have some work to do...

FYI: However, the source site has a zip with some AI (Adobe Illustrator) files that include 'rotated' versions.
