I will be 52 in january. Just got into Silhouette Core rules system(there is a Traveller variant out there, I downloaded it, I just can't remember where...). The hobby never ends.

45 and counting.

Wife says 45 going on 30.

Kids think I'm mad (toy soldiers revival happening in the house, D&D fortnightly, switched jobs from I.T. Consultant to teacher in late 30s).

Picked up D&D while visiting Albuquerque in 1977.

Picked up Traveller as soon as it came out in England. Moved to Australia in 1990 and haven't looked back since...

30.

Traveller was the first RPG I played. In 1982 our group played a scenario from WD magazine- have had a soft spot for Marine characters ever since.

Referee now a great deal more than I play - and have been running a AD&D campaign for the last ten years but every now and then I manage to talk the players into playing Trav. Most of my trav play comes from conventions and such.

I firmly believe everyone on this list (and the TML, and JTAS ) has a responsiblity to bring more younger players into the game - WE CANNOT just sit around comparing High Guard and FFS designs until we hit retirement.

The demographics here reflect this.

But the poll is very entertaining : )

Not so my friend!
I managed a Subway resturant just off the Univ. of Tennessee campus for 6+ years. My core closer for the first 3 years had a PHD in physics. He wanted to teach it, but found out that you had to wait until some professor died or retired for a slot to open. He was working for as a research assistant when the grant expired and his job along with it. His conclusion was that working in fast food atleast earned him free food and paid his rent.
:paragraph:
The working lifetime of a PHD is less than 3 1/2 years unless you keep up with the continuing education.

Yes I know that I am quoting someone who may not even be on this board anymore.
