Traveller Uniform Source

I stumbled across an ad for this clothing site. The style and colors of some of these jackets (especially the Korean styles) fit right into the Traveller uniform discussions and work for either military or civilian crews. Not sure they would be my first choice for everyday wear, but the prices are very good, especially for cosplay.

I've never understood the fascination with uniforms...

... probably because I've had to wear one!

I always figured they probably spend a lot of their time in vacc suits.

At TL15, the Tailored Vacc-Suit probably is the duty-uniform, and looks like a jumpsuit. The skin-tight Light-Duty Vacc-suit (or Body Pressure Sleeve) might also be in general use, and perhaps be the base-garment for jackets and/or other accessories worn over top of it.

The TL15 tailored vacc suit is expressly stated to be the Scout duty uniform. It is implied (I think) that this applies to the Scouts only.

You may be right; I just never got the impression that it was exclusively an IISS thing (and it seems to me to be too good of an idea to restrict it to the IISS alone). At the very least I would think that an LDV-Suit would be standard issue to the IN, even if simply as a base undergarment.

It may be that just a particular style/color combination is being referred to as the IISS Duty Uniform. It would seem odd to me if the IN or other space services didn't have something similar for general duty, at least in certain jobs or areas of a ship (especially a combat service which might run the risk of combat depressurization (whether intentional or unintentional).

The LDVS is explicitly the default for both the RCES and Regency...

In which case (since the Regency is the direct descendant of the Third Imperium) there is a good chance that the LDV-Suit serves as the "basic" IN Uniform as well (perhaps with other accoutrements: coats/jackets, over-tunics/over-breeches, and/or other accessories, etc.).

Blue. Black is for scouts and all sorts of wannabe tough guys. Green and Tan for grunts. Red is too gaudy and hard on the eyes, unless you're an officer. White gets messed up too easily. Grey blends in with the uncolored metals of the ship. So blue.

70 years of top down democratization? Puts that into the "Well, maybe, but don't count on it."

Personally, I'd just like to see a uniform that doesn't scream "Darth Vader Approved" ... what about this:
