Quick query here: Do the k'kree use fighter craft in traveller? Can they use fighters might be a better question, given the k'kree's legendary monophobia and claustrophobia.

I'd kinda like to know for a reason, and the AR book with the k'kree was the one I didn't get...

The answer is yes, though buggered if I could give you a reference.

From memory robo-fighters and allied/slave race fighters - not single-K'Kree fighters.

A k'kree with the enclosure skill may pilot a small craft, but there is no 10ton fighter it is just too small - that's what it sort of says in the CT Alien Module.

So there theoretically could be single occupant k'kree fighters then, they'd just be bigger than a human, vargr or aslan fighter, right?

On page 25 (CT AM2 K'Kree) it lists:
1. "small craft couches require 4 tons, usually at least 2 are fitted"
2. "small craft staterooms require 24 tons per individual"

This drives the minimum size for fighters and other small craft.

note that ship staterooms are 48 tons per individual

On page 5 it lists (after referring to the standard 50-K'Kree platoon and slightly smaller temporary units):
"Vehicle crews are, of course, smaller, but then the Cavalry branch of the K'Kree military breaks many standards. The cavalry service is regarded with a mixture of scorn and awe; vehicle crewmen are generally thought of as lunatics and permitted eccentricities of all sorts that would be grounds for censure in any other arm of the service. The same is true of fighter pilots in the Navy; both breeds are extremely rare, and therefore valued even though their mental stability is considered suspect by most."

In other words, insanity is the norm for armoured vehicle and fighter crews.

Hmm, ironically in Masamune Shirow's "Dominion" manga, a human woman was regarded as somewhat insane because she loved being inside her very tiny police tank. (Yes, a tank meant for police use in a city environment.)

Any, this answers my question, there are k'kree fighters, thanks.

Does anyone know of any T20 or High Guard stats for the robotic fighters? Stats for one of the carriers would be cool.

Mike
