LBB2 starship combat simulator?

parmasson

SOC-14 1K
Say, has anyone ever done a CT LBB2 Starship combat simulator?

Not graphic but a something simple to help the game along. We are getting hot and heavy with the starship combat and I could really use some help. It could have just the basics in some kind of DOS window. Ideally it would use the special missile supplement.

The problem for me is role playing and keeping track of 7 or 8 ships and who is doing what and when.

Hi !

LBB2 starship combat ?
Well, if thats similar to the one presented in "The Traveller Book" it does seems to be far less complicate as the HG2/MT stuff.
Perhaps I could adapt the MT Combat sim....
What exactly is the "missile supplement" ?

Regards,

Mert

Special Supplement 3: Missiles
Describes “standard missiles” as 15 cm in diameter, one meter long weighing 50kg or less.

Performance is described as 5G5 or 6G3. Five gees of thrust for five turns, six gees of thrust for three turns and so on. Different propulsion systems were also offered like discretionary burn and continuous burn creating “smart missiles” with different sensors packages like neutrino, mass, infrared, radar. It also offered different triggers and such. Me, I like the XGX description system but for simplicity sake I still just roll 1D for missile damage unless it is a contact detonator then it is just six points straight up.

[edit] It is at the back of the Double Adventures reprint.#FFE 004

I liked that one

It just needed a little more controls to be usable at a table... if it could be used over the net w/ hexes and LBB2 rules :D ;)

Hi !

Actually I'm "migrating" to .NET, including the humble try to make it more adaptable and "generic".
Main goal is to deal with fleets and an acceptable logic to automatically choose targets.

Yesterday I started to add LBB2 combat sequence modules. Seems to be pretty easy.
I just wasnt able to figure out by the rules, which side actually has "initiative"...
Any hints here ?

Kurega, thanks for the information. So I can treat missiles as subcraft with limited endurance. I will try to get the supplement.

regards,

Mert
