Less Lethal Weapons

Todg

SOC-13
Like to hear from people about how they handle less lethal weapons - rules, etc for things like Tasers. Any other interesting LL goodies?

Goo Guns.

Goo I use as a generic term for packet launched hull sealant, used for sealing hull breaches when time is short. Sets rapidly in air, even more rapidly in vacuum, and not a bad way of imobilising almost anyone if you splash them around the legs.

For T20 it's a touch attack requiring a reflex save to avoid, and a common toy for engineers, non-violent or otherwise.

Two stun guns for hand-to-hand combat - one in each hand. Treat as unarmed combat with the stun guns - same damage as unarmed. All subdual/Stamina damage, but stuns the person for 1d6 rounds.

I have used a gun that uses a low power laser to ionize the air and shoot an electric shock down that laser. Using CT we give you a -5 to stay awake with bonuses for high End.

Not sure where I stole it from or if it can really work but I like it.

Stun Carbines are canon.

Stun carbines appear in Double Adventure 3 "Death Station"

Could we have a low velocity projectile that acts as a capacitor? The stun round is charged as it travels down the barrel and discharges when it hits somebody or something.

How about a special strobe light that can cause a photoinduced seizure?

I want something a little faster-acting and a little more broadly effective (most folks aren't susceptible - especially those who survived the '70's) than a strobe-induced seizure. And, of course, seizures can be fatal (more often than a stun-gun, anyway).

I like that idea of the round being charged as it travels down the barrel (easy enough with a rail gun of some kind).
