Looking for reviews of 'Disappearance on Aramat'

I am currently looking for reviews (preferably contemporary to it's original release in the 1980s) of the Grenadier Miniatures scenario 'Disappearance on Aramat' which was one of a set of licenced scenarios written for them by Gary Pilkington (The others were for Call of Cthulhu and (I think) Dungeons & Dragons).

Can anyone help.

phew... that's a tough one...

Your best bet would be looking over bibliographies for The Space Gamer, White Dwarf, or perhaps The Dragon.

Thanks for the suggestion. Found the 2 gigs worth of Space Gamer on the Internet archive. Checked 1984 and after but they only reviewed the D & D scenario and the Call of Cthulhu scenario as far as I can tell.

Still it was an entertaining read.

If there is anything in White Dwarf, it can be considered to be lost forever, unless Games Workshop changes it's mind on pre-Warhammer material (I know of a lot of Call of Cthulhu gamers who are really angry at that policy.)

Dragon will be interesting to track down, but I'll see what I can do in that regards.

RPGGeek doesn't list any magazine reviews, and since their article database is pretty comprehensive, there may not be one. My comment from reading it 6 years ago was:

A decently developed, although pretty basic adventure in the style of the early GDW adventure books. Expect multiple combat situations. Some old technology that appears slightly too advanced. The setting appears to be non-canon.

Games Workshop is what Mongoose wants to be when they grow up. ;)

That being said, there is White Dwarf Traveller material available and legally so. The trouble is that the articles would be more likely to have been collected as opposed to the reviews.

I vaguely remember the module in question and those few memories fall in line with Agorski's take. Grenadier was a minis company first, so anything they released would have a combat focus.

You're best bet would be to track down a copy of Disappearance on Aramat. Thanks to the internet that will be easier than you imagine.

And that's all I'll say on that topic. ;)

A CD ROM of White Dwarf was very briefly available before being withdrawn. I was able to track down a copy, and have a copy of the Dragon archive. (Both purchases have been clutch.)

Neither magazine had a review of this adventure, which I think is available on the FFG's Apocrypha II disk.

JTAS 20 mentions that it was to be released by Grenadier. (Page 4)
Challenge 63 mentions it in an Zocchi Distributors ad, with stock no ZGRN704.

I've played in this; my group started its current campaign with it a few years ago when our GM spun a campaign of the adventure. Both the adventure and the ensuing campaign have been fun (we started a workers' revolution, but my character is on record as saying that it's because the workers took advantage).

Unfortunately I know of no reviews.

I also don't know of any reviews, but I own it and it's decent enough little product from my recollection. Pretty typical of the time period in many respects.

D.
