Lost URL for Traveller Illustrated Bibliography

Gruffty

OK, I can't find the URL for the illustrated Traveller bibliography - you know the one, it lists loads of Traveller products across all the game's versions and has nice liddle piccies.

Any pointers?

Am I the only one who never actually sees illustrations on this site? As far as I know from the biblio, every Traveller book ever published was white with a red X on the front cover...

IE6 on WinXP.

I've tried right-click "Show Picture" and I still get nada. Strange.

I'd say about 99.8% of the time, no problems.

The illo biblio is part of the 0.2%.

A full cache can cause all kinds of weird problems in IE. Try emptying it.

Are you on dial-up or ADSL/cable? Does the site load particularly slowly? It could be timing out waiting for the pics. Try one of the thumbnail pages.

Done regularly.

We have a cable internet connection - most websites (including the illo biblo) open lickety-split on our machine (which we bought new two years ago). The thumbnails are red-X-boxes as well.

It's a puzzlement.

Well, that's truly bizarre - I don't see the images on my home machine! I clicked on the link you provided, Andrew, and I go to the home page. If I try to open an image (right-click, Open Image in Opera), I get bumped back to the home page.

I think it has something to do with how the pictures are addressed: they are listed as simply the domain, with no directories or filenames. I think this is why they don't show up.

Now, if I could just figure out what's different about my laptop Opera configuration, I might be able to actually help you.

How about this?

Negative on both.

I followed the link the parent directory - no luck that way either.

Off the top of my head, I can think of this occurring with maybe one or two other sites, out of scores upon scores visited.

Something on the biblio site caught my eye - there's a brief blurb about the large size of the picture files. As I said, it's exceedingly rare that *.jpg file size is a problem for our computer, but perhaps it exceeds the through-put for our ISP. (Unlikely, but possible.) I might fire off an e-mail to our cable company and ask.

Then that's probably not the source of the problem.

At least no one can accuse me of judging a book by its cover.

Even going to the index, it won't let me load the pics - it goes back to the home page. This has to be a Java issue - I know there are differences between my home computer installation and my work one. I will have to check it out this week.
