Maintenance and Damage in a civilian ship to aid the story

LMAO

Thanks for that!

Might have a tricky time fitting 'And then rub the old horny lightly!' into a game, but can definitely find an occasion to use 'If the product is destoried, But except humany reason, you can send back to factory and get free fix by cocal agent.'

(Can just hear a player asking how they should go about locating a 'cocal agent'.)

Or, as this site proves things don't always translate well...

Your system was made by the Vilani and the manual translated frmo Vilani to Vargr to Sylean to Ganglic so it says next connex blue thing to red thing but you only have orange, bare metal, green, and yellow parts....

:oo:

Worse still - you use an automatic translator on already translated text... the second language translated into can be quite amusing.

Heck, even going to and fro can be amusing.

Example:
Или, как этого сайта, доказывает, что не всегда хорошо переводятся ...

Hell, even going back and forth may be funny.

Or, detouring through russian then Latin then back:

I like that some of the translators now use the actual language font, and not just a transliteration - do a translation into one of *those* languages, print it out, and hand it to your player, saying "Here's the instructions you pull up when you try to cold-start the engines while free-falling into the sun...."

Hmmmm.... that might come in useful in the adventure I'm putting together............

§ Looks like arabic.
• Looks like Hebrew.
‡you probably don't have the needed fonts. I know I don't!

Note that Persian or Urdu look very very much like the script on the bills in TTA...

Your service manual is in electronic form and your electronics...

have no power.

MWUHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

This is happening to me right now. I'm at a hotel 5 hours away from home because the wife needs surgery. My laptop's screen isn't working and all the data I need now is on the freaking laptop's drives! I can access the Internet because I have my iPhone, but I can't do any real work or use this thing for email!

The laptop boots into Windows, I can hear it. I just can't use it without the screen. And one of the things I was going to set up was to allow Remote Desktop to be used, but I can't do that without a screen and I don't have a spare monitor here (I have a couple at home...).

So my wife who is having Internet withdrawal before her surgery agreed to let me buy a new laptop.

FYI: remote desktop can be turned on remotely on most Windows systems - and a lot of 'screen isn't working' laptops respond to fiddling with the hinge - or removing a few screws and taping/reconnecting ripped/disconnected display ribbon/power cable(s).

However, ...

Sounds like the best solution!
(Of course, it also sounds like you still need data from your old laptop... if its more than just the display, a cheap external usb adapter/enclosure for the hard drive works well.)
