Minor Human races

Now Im not an expert but I do have a large sollection of CT stuff but cant for the life of me find anything on the minor human races. Help!
This is prompted on the MGT suppliment for the Lurani and exclaiming "who the hell are these guys?"

Perhaps this page on the Twiki can help.

Since we probably have WAY too many fans of old cheesy scifi shows on this forum, we might want to stick with TravWiki or some such. But, honestly, I was just pulling your chain, Hans - it obviously put a smile on the badger's face. ;)

That wiki page lists 36 minor human races, which, along with the three major human races would make 39 human subspecies.

Alien Module 6: Solomani says that there are "currently forty-six known and identified human subspecies within explored human space".

What are the other seven?

Ouch! Are we really down to only seven unfilled slots?

It's 49, incidentally. 46 minor and three major human races. And not counting the Loeskalth.

EDIT: No, I see that some of the pages refer to non-canonical races and others to ethnic groups and other non-MHR groups.

Alien Module 6 seemed fairly clear when it talked about the subspecies creation by the Ancients that the Vilani, Solomani and Zhodani were three of the known 46 subspecies... was this retconned in another source?

Anyway, taking out post-Ancient geneered races, and the non-canonicals, how many slots are left that can be filled either canonically in future or in people's own TU's?

Yes. I can't remember the original source, but it is stated in GT: Humaniti.

There is no reliable count as far as I know. As for individual TUs, as many as the referee wants.

"within explored human space" also doesn't even include all of Charted Space, so there is room for others, certainly.

Oh sure. I usually use the phrase "known to Imperial science". One example is the Loeskalth, who are thought by Imperial scientists to be extinct, but was shown in the Sky Raider trilogy to have survived. This new knowledge has not been accepted by Imperial scientists yet, so I don't count them among the 46+3.

The T5SS has identified, as part of the Sophont review, the following:

2 non-canon Human minors (so they don't count)

6 uplifts (non-Humans geneered as sophonts)

1 uplifted major (geneered by the Ancients, developed jump independently? and are active in 1105

2 dieback Human minors (meaning they survived the Final War but not to 1105)

4 human majors (meaning they survived the Final War, developed jump independently and are active in 1105)

49 human minors (geneeered by the Ancients, survived and are active in 1105)

14 human chimera (see T5; except the geneering was done post-Ancients, and generally since the first Human major gained jump drive)

9 human cultures (generally no genetic changes, but the classification exists to remove those identifications from the chimera, major or minor lists)

So at the moment the T5SS recognizes 69 human subspecies, 9 human cultures, 1 uplifted major and 6 uplifted. There's also the case of the Gashiini from JTAS Online, which would classified as an uplifted minor (geneered by the Ancients, survived and are active in 1105) if they gain canon status.

I would have sworn that there were more than that.

4 human majors (meaning they survived the Final War, developed jump independently and are active in 1105)
Don't be a tease, Don. What's the fourth? I never heard of but the traditional three.

49 human minors (geneeered by the Ancients, survived and are active in 1105)
49?!? 49 minor human races mention in official publications and not disallowed for conflict and/or inanity? (I'm thinking specifically of the three throwaway references to minor human races in the Spinward Marches which is a) contrary to a canonical statement in Darrians and b) three really inane descriptions).

So what are you going to do with the canonical limit of 46 minor and three major human races known to the Imperium?

Incidentally, lot of minor humans weren't geneered by the Ancients. Or are you changing that too?

14 human chimera (see T5; except the geneering was done post-Ancients, and generally since the first Human major gained jump drive).
Geneered variants, you mean?

Don, is your most current data spreadsheet for these posted somewhere?
